The GigaPan School Exchange, which began last year, enables students to create GigaPan panoramic images of their communities, activities and other aspects of their lives and share them over the Internet with students in other countries.
Teachers and students from schools in Indonesia, South Africa, Brazil, and Trinidad and Tobago will be joined at the workshop by teachers from South Fayette Middle/High School, Burgettstown Area Middle/High School, Connellsville Area Middle/High School, Propel Schools and the Falk Laboratory School in Oakland.
The workshop at South Fayette High School, Oakdale, was organized by the CREATE Lab at Carnegie Mellon's Robotics Institute and will be led by staff members from CREATE and UNESCO-IBE. GigaPan was developed by Carnegie Mellon in collaboration with the NASA Ames Intelligent Robotics Group, with support from Google.
